Bristol Sighting

by starchild on Thu Jun 28, 2007 3:40 pm

This is my first post to the forum to discuss what I saw this morning over my home in North Bristol.
At approx 9.25am, whilst in the back garden, I spotted a round black object moving steadily in a Northerly direction across the sky. I can definatley say what I saw was`nt a bird, plane or a helicopter and it moved in a straight horizontal trajectory across the sky and disappeared into a cloud.

If it moved smoothly and straight, it was probably a balloon of some sort. Could you gauge its size?

Thanks for posting

Thanks for the reply MR. I`d say roughly a pea size at arms length, in view for about 2 minutes.

I just checked the wind direction for Bristol and it says they are west to south-westerly, so the were blowing in a east to north-east direction. If they were more south-westerly when you saw the object, then the object would appear to be moving north-ish. I'd say it was a balloon or something similar.

Thanks for the report.
