Hi Bardo,

Information like that could have been got by stooges chatting to people before the show. I am much more interested in hearing about stuff he got right that the person in front of him didn't already know.

It could be an interesting exercise to go to one of these shows and if anyone strikes up a conversation with you, to give them a load of interesting but incorrect information. If he comes out with what you said, then you know it is all a sham. It would involve lying to someone, but they would never know, and it would be in the interests of research...

some brain tumours are inoperable so there is no hope for the patient.a few doctors are now operating on people by actually killing them.this is done by lowering the blood temp of the patient so the blood vessels around the brain decrease, this then helps the doctor to operate on the said area.this can only happen by killing the patient.people are brain dead with no heartbeat, thus you are clinically dead.when the operation concludes the blood temp is slowly raised until the heart starts to beat.
in short people are saying they see a sort of afterlife when dead...

Ahhh right, but they are not actually dead, blood still flows through the brain in a limited fashion giving it oxygen and therefore life, other wise cell death would occur, and brain cell death is unreversable. Perhaps its a bit like hibernation, where the body survies long periods with little metabolic activity due to extreame cold. A similar thing to when people fall into really cold lakes and are found an hour or so later and are still able to be revived without too much damage to the brain.

Anyways, the thing is, the shock of such an trauma occuring to the brain does cause a chemical change, this is proven, as to why these people all see the same 'dream' has yet to be discovered. Maybe we are all subject to ideals of death, heaven, a white light ect and thats what we subconsiously see.

Hence my thoughts about evidence from a cross or multi faith/cultural study; does say a devout Buddhist share the exact same experience as a devout Christian, or even devout Aethiest etc? Must confess my current knowledge of details of Shamanic experiences (most drug-induced) is lacking; ie how they achieve contact with the spirits (that's the problem with the word 'spirit', it has so many different connotations in different cultures), when time permits I'll need to read up again.

Oh Bravo...

Lots and lots of hugs. xxx. I,m so sorry to hear of your sad bereavement. I was blubbing myself when I read your post.

I have found that when you have a strong bond with someone, family say, they DO come back to reassure you....to ease your pain and comfort you in your grief.

I dont say this lightly, but from experience. Its happened to me over and over again, whether they come in dreams, or use some other method the message is always the same.... The love they had for you in life is still there.

My own thoughts on the scientific belief that any reports of life after death is due to mental effects on the physical body is ... they are ignoring that other very important part of man , the spirit.

The spirit is unique in that it lives on.

The human body needs three basic things for life. Food for the body...Food for the mental computer....and food for the spirit.
(Spiritual food is all around you, from a babies smile to a glowing sunset.)

Your Mam must have been a wonderful lady to have had so many wishing to pay their last respects Bravo, and although your grieving, be glad they found a way to let you know they care.

Thank you for those kind words MoM, they really do mean a lot to me.

It feels to me as though the loved ones I know who have passed are with me quite often. The best way I can describe it is like Obi Wan Kenobi and Yoda from Star Wars visiting Luke in the final movie. It is exactly the same, only I can't see them. I just know they are there.

For the wake we hired out the concert room of a club in Leeds, quite a large place. Despite being large it was nearly full, and slightly embarrassing as we only catered for 60 people (hard to guess how many are going to attend a funeral) and the food went straight away. Despite that, there was a few empty tables in one corner, and I knew (for a fact) that departed loved ones were there. And it seemed as though everyone else knew they were there as that corner got completely left alone.

I looked over and felt as though a glass was being raised to me and I had to fight not raising a glass in return. I know this probably sounds a bit 'barmy', I am telling the truth as I see it, make of it what you will.

Bravo, I'm so sorry for your loss. *hugs* I must admit, I had a cry, too.

I saw in one of your earlier posts that you wanted my perspective on this, but I am really not sure what to add, as everyone who has replied to you seems to be doing a fine job.

One thing I would suggest, though.

Don't go looking for your loved ones. Let them come back to you. They have done this already.

My aunt was extremely upset when my Grandmother passed on five years ago, and she was still visiting 'psychics' to try and contact the other side up until 8/9 months ago. Now I used inverted commas, because I have went with her to a couple of 'readings' and all I can say is that she is being conned. (I am NOT tarring all psychics/clairvoyanys/sensitives with the same brush).

She did not realise that she was being asked leading questions, or was asking them herself. She was not aware that the woman sitting in the waiting room was actually an assistant paid to overhear conversations.

My grandmother has come back to myself and my mother. Both times she had messages for my aunt. 'Stop trying. I will speak to you when you are ready.'

Sure enough, two months down the line, she called me up to let me know that my gran had 'come' to her in a dream. She has stopped visiting the people that she did.

Thanks scully, that makes a lot of sense.

I work with my dad (and brother), and we were talking about the presence of spirits of the departed etc, and he summed it up in one concise sentence...

'They are there every time you think of them'

My mother has been 'there' a lot.

Hi Bravo

I've only just read this thread and may i also say that i'm sorry for your loss too.

I read about a couple of doctors (about 4 years ago) who were using a new type of ultrasound heart monitor. They began to notice something they called a squiggly line on peoples hearts when using this machine. On further investigation during surgical proedures they could never find evidence of the squiggly line. They concludre that the line is the soul.
