How odd is this?

Earlier this week I made the remark that I hadn't bought my local paper since they upped the price from a halfpenny.

A couple of mornings later I settled down with a cuppa and heard a definate 'ping!' of metal on stone.

On the carpet in front of me was a 1958 halfpenny.

I showed it to the cap'n who laughed at the spooky joke.

I think I should have mentioned 50 quid instead.

But where did the 'ping' come from?

It sounds like it could have been an apport.. Unless you had an old halfpenny in your pocket and it just spookily fell out at that moment....

Sometimes when we question things and 'spirit' hear us they like to play around a little bit.. I usually have this in reverse - with things disappearing or moving around... you could always ask them to stop if you feel uncomfortable about the interference. Or.. as you say - mention quite loudly that you could do with £50... when the money starts pouring in - remember your old friends here!!!!

I've been throwing it back... in all directions, even from the top of the stairs but its still here.

What I really want to know is, why the ''ping'' ?

One halfpenny....mmm...about as welcome as matlocks noon mail. ........Or the present birth-pangs of the one world-bank.
